Texas Hill Country REALTOR® Steve Rodgers credits his success in real estate to the fact that he listens, and listens well. 

Listening well allows him to discover his clients' true wants and needs, so he knows how to best help them reach their goals. He then answers every question and explains the process. Because he believes in clear and timely communication, Steve's clients are well informed, relaxed, and confident throughout their transactions.

Growing up in his family’s wholesale produce business in Dallas, Steve began his working life as a teen, unloading produce at the family warehouse. He eventually worked his way up to Vice President by helping the family grow the business. In those days, a 65 to 80-hour work-week was the norm, and that work ethic is ingrained in his personality.

Today, Steve's clients benefit from the negotiating skills and sense of timing he developed while buying, handling, and selling large volumes of produce. His listing clients also get the benefit of the marketing expertise he developed while setting ads for major chain stores, wholesalers, and food service companies throughout the U.S. 

At one point after becoming licensed in 2001, Steve worked as a New Home Consultant for communities being developed by homebuilders. Because one of his duties was inspecting homes at each stage from “dirt through completion,” he learned the mechanics of home building and how to judge quality. He now uses this knowledge to ask the right questions and protect his home buyers from expensive mistakes. 

Not one to rest on prior experience and knowledge, Steve believes strongly in continuing education.  He holds the Sellers Representative Specialist (SRS) and Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation from the National Association of REALTORS® and regularly attends classes focused on contracts, real estate law, and updates in technology. 

After 16 successful years serving the Dallas real estate market, Steve and his wife Vicki relocated to the Texas Hill Country, where they had a new home constructed in Kissing Tree, a 55+ community located between San Marcos and New Braunfels. 

Now Steve is eager to assist retirees and others who are moving or transferring into the area, and no one is better-equipped to say why the Texas Hill Country is a good choice. He and his wife chose it only after spending several years researching communities across the southern U.S. from New Mexico to Florida. 

Steve’s hobbies are Aikido/Judo, Yoga, natural gardening, hiking, and biking. An animal lover, Steve purchased a pet buggy so their small dog Hank can accompany him and his wife on walks and travel adventures.
